Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking Public Sanitation Worker to join our team. This role is essential for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in public spaces, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for residents and visitors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for waste collection, street cleaning, and assisting in the upkeep of public facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and dispose of waste and recyclables from public bins and designated areas.

• Clean streets, sidewalks, parks, and other public spaces using manual and mechanical tools.

• Assist in maintaining and servicing sanitation vehicles and equipment.

• Follow established safety and environmental guidelines while handling waste and cleaning chemicals.

• Report any sanitation-related issues, such as overflowing bins or illegal dumping, to supervisors.

• Collaborate with team members to complete daily cleaning routes efficiently.

• Provide assistance during emergency clean-up operations after storms, public events, or environmental hazards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required).

• Previous experience in waste management, sanitation, or a related field is a plus.

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.

• Knowledge of waste disposal regulations and safety procedures.

• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

• Valid driver’s license (preferred for operating sanitation vehicles).
